Born and raised in the Florida Panhandle, Jeff Burns was instilled with the values of freedom, fairness, and a love for the law. Jeff's father is a proud military veteran, former JAG, and one of Destin's first attorneys, and his mother is the City of Destin's Librarian and a Lithuanian World War II refugee. Leadership is in his blood, and he’ll judge with fairness and integrity while upholding our rights as residents of the state of Florida and our great nation.
Jeff Burns Will Uphold Our Rights
Qualified to Lead
Jeff started out prosecuting criminal cases for the State Attorney’s Office for the Second Judicial Circuit in Leon County. He then began his civil practice with Okaloosa County’s oldest firm, Anchors Smith Grimsley, where he is now partner. Jeff has also participated in dozens of appeals, including some in front of the Florida Supreme Court. That’s why he has proven experience to lead as our circuit judge!
Family Man with Family Values
Jeff is married to Lindsey, another Destin native, whose family has deep roots in the local area. Jeff and Lindsey reside in Fort Walton Beach and love the outdoors. They enjoy fishing, boating, paddle-boarding, and spoiling their dog Zoe. They are also members of their local Methodist church and strive to make a difference in our community.
Jeff served on the board of the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge, and is a member of the All Sports Association, which benefits underprivileged girls and boys in Panhandle sports programs. He also helped form the “Trendsetters” program at Pryor Middle School in Fort Walton Beach, pairing young professionals with at-risk youth in need of mentorship.
